Ethiopia (in East Africa)
A country with varied climate, arable land, potential natural resources, large number of populations, colorful culture, religions, legends, etc.
It has an area of 1,106,100 square kilometers.
Ethiopia is in the northern hemisphere and completely in eastern from longitude. Ethiopia is a country with most area plateau / mountains.
Geologically, the Danakil depression is the lowest part of Ethiopia (116 meters below sea level) and the highest peak is Ras Dashen (4620 meters above sea level).
Ethiopia has many rivers; one of the rivers, Blue Nile is the longest river in the world.
The largest lake in the country is Lake Tana to the north of the country and it is highland lake.
Ethiopian rift valley is part of great East African rift valley system, encompasses some 6 lakes in the southern part of the country which are habitats of birds, mammals/marine life, like hippos and crocodiles.
In the south part of the country, above 45% of the Ethiopian’s ethnic groups live.
Their culture, the Mursi with their clay plates, the Hammer for their bull jumping ceremony, the Karo for their body adornment etc. are our outdoor museums.
